We were 25 years old. These years mean we are young, attractive and active like young girls. These 25 years were full of great projects supporting lots of women and children during these years.
Our club is one of the most unique clubs in Europe not just because we were the first club in Central and Eastern Europe after the changing of the communist regime. But the first club in Budapest was founded in 1928. So we are not just young but very wise, like an 88 year old lady.
Suzanne Noel was on a lecture tour which took her to Budapest. Dr Noel initiated the first Hungarian club and in these years was its champion, supporter and chief builder.
In 1936 the International Soroptimist Congress was held in Budapest. During the Second World War our club was banned and it was reborn in 1990 following the political transition in Hungary. The charter ceremony was 25 years ago. We are very lucky since now we have 2 founding members and two others who joined the club in that year.
We have worked very hard to create a special event on this lovely weekend. We hope that every participant enjoyed the whole programme. We put our hearts in to the organizing work.
Thank you for being with us in Budapest, as our wonderful friend. We are so glad for your visit in our city, and that you have joined our celebrations. All of you were so kind and generous to support our projects. It was an amazing experience never to be forgotten.
Sorry, nothing found.
